Limits of science

From my point of view, there should be more limits in the scientific world. It seems to me that a lot of scientists use humans for their experiments, and not always in a legal way. They especially use animals for medicine experiments and actually also for cloning.
After many experiments, scientists have succeeded in cloning, but the society is against this new technology. And after thinking about what they are trying to do, I have come to the same conclusion. They are trying to do identycal copies of humans, and this can't be good for society. It would mean that a lot of people in the world would have a clone, somebody that is exactly like him, and I wouldn't like to have one!
On the other hand, as far as I know, the last years they have tried to clone every single animal that exists. The famous sheep Dolly is an example of it, and she seemed to be happy with her life.
In conclusion, I would say that cloning is an example of limits of science. It's an unnecessary method that nobody needs and I bet that we could continue living perfectly without a clone of ourselfs.

Daniel Meyer

Daniel Meyer is a 16 years old boy. He seems like a normal teenager, just like his friends, but he isn't. Daniel came one month earlier to the world and lost his twin sister because she died shortly after birth, and unfortunately Daniel had a malformed heart.
Since 2004 he has a heart catheter and has to have always oxygen with him. If they would have a donor heart, it would be questionable if he would survive the surgery.
The last years, Daniel spent the time alone in his bedroom just waiting to die. He had so many wishes but his family cared too much so he never had the chance to make his dreams come true.
Far away from Daniel, was living the author Lars Amend. He was running away from his depression, so he flew to Rio de Janeiro to find the meaning of the life. He lived in a very poor neighborhood, where next to him died people because they hadn't enough to eat or because someone just killed them.
He went back to Germany to write a book about his experiences, but then he heard about Daniel. The author wanted to help the teenager and went to the hospital to visit him. Suddenly, Daniel was happier because Lars laughed and discussed with him, not like his parents just were always afraid of doing something wrong.
One evening they sat in Daniel's room, and Lars had the idea to make a list about his wishes, wich were:
-Stay in a 5-star hotel
-Kiss a girl
-Stay long awake
-Pass a day kidding people
-Smoke a cigarette
-A ride with a limousine through the city
-Go shopping cool clothes and shoes
-Eat the best spaghetti Carbonara in the world
-Record a song
-See Mama being happy
Lars made his wishes come true one by one. Both are now much more happier, the teenager was having fun the first time in his life and the writer has found a new sense of life.

Gap year

Today I will talk about the famous "GAP" year.
Some students, go a year abroad between high school and college. During this gap year, students engage in academic courses, especially to learn new languages. They have also the chance to do a volunteer work or a "travel and work" year.
The practice of taking time out developed in the United Kingdom during the 60's, but today it has become one of the biggest dreams for every student. It's a perfect opportunity to learn new languages, learn more about the cultures from other countries, make new friends and to live amazing experiences.
The most important reasons for students to go abroud could be:

- They want to see something else, and not always their own country.
- They want to go away from their parents.
- They want to live for the first time by their own.
- They are interested in other cultures and languages.
- They want to meet new people.
- They want to make a break from the studying, before going to college.

When I finish school, I will also make this experience. Not just for learning a new language, I will work and earn some money to pay the University.

A YEAR WITHOUT SHOPPING

Nunu is a trendsetter and blogger, in conclusion, she loves fashion.
This love turned every day more to an addiction, so she decided to this experiment: One year without shopping, no new clothes, no shoes and no handbags.

The Austrian girl loved to go through the stores and to buy new clothes, but she didn't knew her limits.
"I have shopped to distract me, because something in my life wasn't going well, but I definetily didn't bought the stuff because I needed it."
Even after a good day in the office, Nunu needed to go to the department stores. She didnt't know the reasons for the shopping trips, she just felt that she needed it and she wanted to feel the satisfying feeling afterwards, but this satisfaction never lasted long, the distances were getting shorter day after day.
"It's like a drug addiction, you needed everytime faster".
During this "shopping diet" she always asked herself: Do I want this? Do I really need it?, and this helped her a lot. She bought a book written by other girls who have tried it and they believe that it had made them happier.
Nunu, after finishing her shopping experience, is much more happier and thinks that it has helped her a lot, she has found a new way of living without spending money for unnecessary things.

Personally, I prefer to continue living with that motto:

NEW PROJECT

In shortly, Empuriabrava will have another café, but this time, it won't be another dirty and expensive place like the other ones, it will be a traditional german Bakery and café.
It will be a bakery and café with german products, meals, breakfast and self-made cupcakes called Café Olé. They are working really hard since november, and I must say that at the beggining I was not that happy with this idea. I thought that there are already too much cafés in Empuriabrava and that it wouln't work, but you can see everyday more results and it's awesome!
People from everywhere come to us to ask about what we are going to do and when we are going to open. Even the newspaper Empordà came to us because they want to write an article about it. They have planned to open it in the first week of March, but we will see it in a few weeks.

SUMMER JOB

I can't wait for summer because, honestly, I'm sick of going to school everyday and to study every afternoon. I prefer, thousand times more, to work even if it means to be there at ten o'clock and to have to clean the shop every day.
My clients were people from everywere, especially from France, Russia, Germany or England. The most of them had a lot of money so they always bought the special collections. The cheapier collections had a lower quality and were destinated for the tourists. It's a very interesting job, you have the chance to talk to people from all over the world, to learn more about the culture and about their lifes. The female part of clients normally can't stop to explain you their whole lifes, the problems with the husband, or the lovers, how smart their children are..
It's unbelievable how people can trust so far to tell their private life to a simply shopassistant!
In conclusion, I'm very lucky to have this job and I can't wait to work there another summer.

Nicholas Sparks

In my opinon Nicholas Sparks is the best author ever. He's an american novelist, screenwriter and producer. He has published seventeen novels plus one non-fiction. Eight of his romantic-drama novels have been adapted to films. He wrote his first novel at school, but he never published it, and the next he wrote is the most known, The Notebook.
Every single movie had a big success, they are about love storys but not always with an happy ending, mostly a main character dies in a tragedy and the partner learns to live without someone by his side.
His movies are very popular, for young people as well for the older ones, they have the perfect dosis of love, tragedy and mistery.
Most people I know, think that his movies are romantic and sad at the same time, and they end crying after seeing it.
Some examples of his novels are:
- The Notebook
- The Lucky one's
- A walk to remember
- Dear John
Now i'm reading the novel Best of me (in english), a story about a man and a women who were in love when they were teenager, but they parents forced them to end the relation and 20 years after of being separeted, they see each other at the funeral of a friend and they are falling in love again.
The book will be adapted to a movie in October.

Orphan Black

Orphan Black is a Canadian science fiction television series starring Tatiana Maslany.
The main character is called Sarah Manning, a young women who assumes the identity of her clone, Elizabeth.
Sarah, saw the suicide of a women at the train station and she stole her handbag  and discovered, after seeing a picture, that the girl looked just like her and the girl seems to have a great job and a lot of money. So she decided to go to her apartment, and there, Sarah realized that that was the solution for all her problems, she needed money and she acted like she was Elizabeth, even her "boyfriend" didn't notice anything strange.
After a time she discovered more and more new interesting facts until she realized that she and Elizabeth were clones. But that's not all, she also discovered that there are more people like her out there and she wanted to know who was the creater of the clones.
The series are about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning.

Dolly

Dolly was born on 5th July 1996 and had three mothers ( one provided the egg, another the DNA and the third carried the cloned embryo to term).
She was created using the technique of somatic cell nuclear transfer by Iam Wilmut, Keith Campbell at the Roslin institute in Edingburgh. Dolly wasn't the first animal to clone but she gained the attention in the media because she was the first to be cloned from an adult cell.
The sheep lived her entire life at the Roslin Institute and produced six lambs until she died on the 14th February 2003 because she had a lung cancer which is very common of sheeps. After Dolly died many other animals were cloned (pigs, horses, bulls..) but no one was so famous like her, so she has been called "the world's most famous sheep" by the media.
In my opinion, cloning an animal isn't that bad, and I don't understand why so many people think that it is something that goes against god and religion. It's just a new technique of creating life, and Dolly had the same life like other sheeps and she didn't have any problems, she was just a normal happy sheep.

Christmas Eve

For me, the best day of the year is not my birthday, not the last day of school, it's Christmas Eve. This year I decided to leave my mother here and go to visit my family in Germany. I love this time of the year, it's snowing, everyone is happy, everyone is baking cookies and the whole family is together.

My grandparents picked me up on the airport and I have slept there during the holidays. The first days I did the typical last-minute shopping to buy some presents and christmas cards, it was amazing to see how much people buy their presents on the last day, and how much money they spent. On Christmas Eve, everyone in my family has to go to the church, even if you are never going during the year. It is very boring to sit there, and listen for hours and hours to something you can't even understand, but it's always funny because my cousins bring their children and they can entertain us very well. Last Christmas they told us to go outside because we were making too much noise and other people wanted to listen to the pastor. This was the best moment ever, we laughed so much and had so much fun even it was freezing outside.
After church comes the best, going outside and wish everyone, and I mean everyone, a happy Christmas. There are always so much people that after this everyone hurts the hand from shaking everyone's hand. After this every family goes home and have the Christmas diner and then it's time to open their presents.

The next day, the stress begins. You have to go every day to someone of your family's house. So the most people are happy when Christmas is over.
