St. Nicholas

Some countries celebrated last Friday the Saint Nicholas Day. It is celebrated on the 6th December in most Orthodox countries. It's a festival for especially for children and the "Nicholas" normally always brings presents.

The american Santa Claus and the British Father Christmas derive from this legend.

 The tradition in Germany is based for the kids but I continue doing it every year. The children put a boot outside the door on the night of 5 December, St. Nicholas fills de boot with gifts and sweets overnight and he checks up the children to see if they were good, polite and helpful last year. If they were not, they will find a tree branch in their boots. But this never happens, it's only to scare the kids.

Everyone has an fashion idol, we are inspired of what they wear and how they wear it. If one of them wears a new item, everyone wants to have it and after a few minuts it is already sold out, what is absolutely crazy.

EASTER WONDER

Once upon a time, a little girl called Poppy was very very happy because finally had arrived her favourite time in the year: Easter. She used to live in a little town known as Eggietown. The whole town was very excited about these days and like every year, they made a big party for this time.

One morning, Poppy's family had the typical Easter breakfast. They were all together in Poppy's house and had a lot of fun. Her cousins Jamie and Tom and he twins Nicklas and Leonie came also to the party. For breakfast her mother made eggs with bacon, apple pie and a lot of special food for that day. They all loved mummy's food, she was a great cook!

After eating, the cousins went to the garden to look after the eggs. Their parents used to hide the eggs and chocolate rabbit for their kids and so they did that year too.

Poppy was afraid of the old story about the Easter witch; the story tells that long time ago, there was a little girl that used to love this time of the year. But that one year she went to the forest to find her easter eggs but her mother, a cruel woman with no love in her heart, had stolen all the eggs for her little daughter, so she couldn't find any. She was very sad and began to hate this time of the year which for her classmates was the most wonderful.

Since that day, people say that the girl enchanted all the easter eggs with a black point in the middle. The kids that find these special eggs are forever enchanted and are closed in this egg for a long long time. In these eggs, there is another world inside; and horrible place with a big castle in the middle of a dark forest. The witch lives there with her handsome son Prince Tristan and all her slaves which are the kids that one time had found her eggs.

SWEET 16

"Hello, as you know we are Angelina and Esther and today we are talking about the Sweet Sixteen party. We are going to show you the traditions, themes, dresses, invitations and some videos.

The Sweet Sixteen party it's a copy of the Quinceañera, which means the moments when a girl goes from childhood to womenhood. In North America and Canada it's a coming of age party celebrating the sixteenth birthday of a girl, and recently also for some boys.
One of the traditions is the Candle Lighting. It's a ceremony done by the guests, family and friends. Each candle is for a special person, for the parents, grandparents, uncles, best friends and maybe, if there is one, the boyfriend.Another tradition is the Father-daughter dance, it's the first dance dedicated to father and daughter. It's a symbol for her maternity and independence. Once the dance is over, it's followed by a dance with the friends.The Shoe Changing ceeremony is common in the Quinceañera celebration. The flat shoes are changed to heels. It's also a symbol of the child growing into adulthood.
First of all you have to choose a theme, which can be:-Dance Party: It's a party for boys and girls and it has to take place in a location with plenty of space for a dance floor like a hotel ballroom. It's necessary to hire a DJ who plays the birthday girl's favourite music all night long.
-Spa Party: Every girl loves beauty products, so some girls choose this theme for their party. It's a smaller celebration, ,with only the closest friends. The girl and her friends go to a local spa and then they enjoy beauty treatments. After this, they can go out for a fancy dinner.

EMA's 2013

Last Sunday Amsterdam celebrated one of the most important music events of the year. MTV did the EMA's 2013, wich is a celebration of the hottest stars in music from around the world.
This year they have chosen the german set and stage designer Florian Wieder to make it an unforgetable event, so the theme was "Out of this world" and "Fun.Party.Alien".
The best stars of this year have the oportunity to perfom on the stage. Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, Kings of Leon, Snoop Dogg, Afrojack, Imagine Dragons, Icona Pop, The Killers and Katy Perry presented their newest songs on the stage.
The host was "I'm Sexy and I know it singer" MC Redfoo, he did a very good job and he also presented his new song "Get Ridicolous"
The most important stars to win awards were Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Eminem and a lot more.
Here are some shocking facts about this party:
- They were over 10.000 km of cable laid down.
- 20 HD camaras were used to shoot the show.
- They used over 30 litres of body paints and 20 kilos of glitter.
- They had 40 dressings rooms.
- 2160 units of Coke.
- 2500 kilos of ice were used.
- Over 5000 dancers travelled to Amsterdam for 50 spots.

Presentations

During the last week my friends from class did some oral presentations about the traditions, weddings and funerals from around the world.  Some people did it allone, the others in pairs o even more. The most comparated funerals or weddings from different cultures and the pass from childhood to adulthood.
Esther and I did it about the Sweet Sixteen in America, wich is the day when a girl turns sixteen years old. We have talked about the traditions, themes, dresses, invitations and we have shown some videos related to it.
We all have also learned a lot about other cultures, like the gipsy wedding, japanese weddings, the differences between funerals from the catholic and islam religion.
- I have learned that in Bulgaria, shaking the head to say yes or no, is completely different to the rest of the world. To say no we shake our head horitzonal while they do it vertical, and to say yes they do it horitzontal while we do it vertical. This is a really strange fact. Why they don't do it like the others?

- I also have learned that the Sweet 16 birthday is an copy of the South-America's Quinceañera, and that it's also very popular for boys.

- The other thing I didnt' knew were some interesting japanese and chinese traditions.

This were really funny classes, were we could learn new things, have fun and practise our english pronunciation.

Abercrombie and Fitch will start selling clothing in plus sizes

A few months ago, there was a big discussion all around the label Abercrombie and Fitch.
Anyone who has been at anyone of the Abercrombie and Fitch shop in the last years has probably noticed that they don't sell XL or XXL sizes for men and women only because they don't want overweight people wearing their clothes. For example, the largest pants for women are only available at Abercrombie are a size 10, while shops like H&M goes up to a size 16.
This attitude comes from Mike Jeffries, he literally says:
"I don't want larger people shopping in my store, I want thin and beautiful people. I also won't see people who aren't as hot as my customers wearing my clothing. My clients should feel like they're one of the cool kids."
All the customers who worked at the store, described it like a racism shop, where only thin and good-looking girls and boys can work, and never over 25 years old.
Jeffries reason because of that was that he only hires good-looking people to attract other good-looking people, and he wants his shop to be cool. 
Another of this ridiculous things that he said is:
“In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids,” he told. “Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either,”
And now, finally, he have changed his opinion and will start to expand the women's top collection, to offer a larger range of sizes and colours.

Without legs to success

This ist the story of a young men who lost his legs in a tragic accident, Italo Romano.
As a 13 year old boy, he was playing with his friends when he fell between carriages and nearly lost his life.
The first years, it was very difficult for him to live without legs, and his classmates in school didn't make it easier.
But he never gave up this one big dream, he always wanted to be a professional skateboarder. But everyone tought that it was impossible, how could a teenager without legs be a skateboarder?
So he followed his dream, not listening at his friends or family, and just tried his luck. He gave up the studying and began to train very hard, about 8 hours every day.

Now, with 23 years he made it to the finals at the Tampa Pro 2012  ( skateboard competition)

Special Wedding

Rachel is celebrating her wedding, altought the groom is missing.
Her wedding dress of her dreams is still hanging in her bedroom. Three months have passed since that day and she had only one last dream: to dance with her father on her own wedding.
Her father James, is fighting since two and a half years against pancreatic cancer, but this July he has decided to give up de chemotherapy and spend his last days happily with his wife and two daughters.

Rachel knew that she has no time to lose. So she decided to get married, but there was still no groom, so she has the idea to make her own wedding, just without groom.
She posted her idea on Facebook and asked if someone can lead her a wedding dress and her friends and family helped her to make her dream come true.
With about 60 guests, including many friends of her father, were celebrating her wedding and she could dance the last dance of her wedding.
Five weeks later, James lost his fight against the cancer, but Rachel has the best memorys of her loving father.

INTRODUCTION

Hello here is some information about me.
My name is Angelina Würth and I am sixteen years old. My hometown is Donaueschingen, a little village in Germany. I was born there and I lived there for 5 years. My dad had the idea to come to Spain when I was around 3 years, so he decided to buy a house and find a job, after this i also came with my mother. Now I'm living in Empuriabrava since eleven years and lot of things have changed, my parents separated last year and now my dad is moving with his girlfriend to Barcelona and I'm still here living with my mother and her new boyfriend. I always try to go to Germany three times a year, but this year I couldn't becaus I am working in a jewelry shop in Empuriabrava, Angelo Luchini. I have to work a lot of hours but I love it. This summer I worked with three other girls but one already left home to Slovaquia. On 15th October we close during the winter, so I'll have more time to study and on Christmas I can finally go to Germany to visit my family.

My summer

This summer I have worked a lot. I've worked in a jewellry shop in Empuriabrava, Angelo Luchini. I started there on 15th June till 15th October, when the shop closes during the winter. My coworkers after this go on holidays or go to work in another shop of ours. The other ones are in Girona, Estartit, Roses, Platja d'Aro... Some of them are from my boss, and the other ones from his son, these are named Fashion Line. Now, they are opening the one in Girona, so I have to go a few days to work there, also in the next weeks we're going one day to Portaventura and then we have the final season dinner.
It was very funny because we had a lot of trouble with the stupid women who's working in Roses, because every day come someone in our shop, because they think that the women in Roses is unkind. So my coworker Marianna went to Roses one day dressed like an old women to test her. After a few minuts asking stupid questions, trying earings and touching everything, the women said that she has to go from this shop, because she only have 5 minuts to look if she doesn't want to buy anything.
We all think that she has some kind of physical problems.
I also went out a lot with my friends, basically every day, I had a lot of fun with them.

Bye bye ESO!

We were waiting for this during four years, we finally got the ESO.
It's June, and like every year we can't wait to finish school and join the summer. But this year it's diferent, because after this summer will change a lot of things. We can do Batxillerat, go to work or just stay at home for the rest of your life andyou will meet new people.
This summer will be special for me, I just finished all the exams and I passed all the subjects and now I start to work. Well, I'm already working since one month, but only the weekends. I'ts very stressful, I work for 8 hours, and I never can sit down or eat something. But they pay very well and I like to be there.
After this summer I'll go back to the school in Castelló to do Batxillerat.

News

FLOODS IN GERMANY

In some areas, the flood situation is already more relaxed, in other regions i'ts comming worst.  Especially in the cities and towns along the Elbe fear the people because of the rising water levels.
In the morning the level was in Dresden at 8.27 meters. Normal is about two meters.
Over 11.000 people had been  previously brought to safety.
 Brandenburg expects higher water levels than in the flood of 2002. For the record flood of August 2002, there were 9.98 meters. Since the terrain is inaccessible there, the county has asked the Federal Armed Forces, to bring sandbags by helicopter to close the gap there.
Nationwide, 70.000 firefighters and more than 11.3000 soldiers are fighting against the floods. At least seven people died since the flood disaster has started and a lot of people are missing.
The inhabitants of these areas are all helping and doing what they can to stop the floods, but it's impossible. It's going wortst every day and the people can't do anything to stop it.
Passau is one of the worst cities, on the 1st of June the historic centre of Passau was underwater. The  water levels reached 12.85 m, overflowing the highest recorded historic flood level.

My family

Last summer was the wedding of my cousin Susanne and her husband Thomas. It was a wonderful day. We went to a little church with all the family and friends. I met people " of my family" that I didn't knew and after two long hours of sitting in the church we went to a hotel where we ate cakes and cupcakes and finally had dinner.
In the same town where the hotel was, there was a little party and the friend of the bride took her to there and her husband had to find her.
Me and some friends also went to the party, and when we arrived I saw both of the stage singing a song. It was wonderful and a lot of people (they already were drunk) began to cry. It was very funny. After that we went back to the hotel.
This may was born their son, Lukas. He was born at the 13th of May in the Schwarzwald Baar Klinikum at 18:03h. He had 3345 grams and 50 cm. When I first saw this picture I fell in love with him immediatly and I can't wait to see him.

They are really happy together.

Summer'13

This summer will be the first year that I work. I work at the jewellry's in Empuriabrava.
 I'm the luckiest person because I have found something for this summer. Most people I know doesn't have a job. It will be very stressful but I can need the money. I will buy a scooter this summer and next year I wanted to go to Ibiza with a friend. The shop opens at 10 o'clock in the morning and closes at 11 o'clock in the night.
 I don't will work all this hours during the seven days of the week but I will not have time for going to the beach a lot. I already have worked a few days and I really like it. I prefer working there and selling expensive watches and jewelry of Calvin Klein, Diesel, Armani, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Pandora.. than working in a tourists shop or in a restaurant. Thay pay really well and my boss is very nice and kind with me.
I also have to be very careful, the possibility that someone can steal something is very high.

Nina

My only and true love is my little dog Nina. She's six years old and she's as little as a head of a Labrador. I dont's see her a lot because after the divorce of my parents she's living with my father. But sometimes, when my father brings me home after school she's with him and i can see her for a few minuts.

Some days, when my father is working and he won't leave her alone at home she stays with me. But I can't do a lot with her, she's the laziest dog I know, she don't want to play, don't want to walk.. only sleep and sleep.

She's also afraid of a lot of things, and I always have to look after her if she's okey. 

One day, I went with friends on a boat and Nina went with me. It was a little boat, there was much wind and the music was too loud for her. After an hour, she went really bad and her tongue was blue. After this trip, I took her to the vet and after one or two days she was better again. 

Europa-Park

The Europa-Park ist the largest park in Germany and the second most popular theme park resort in Europe (after Disneyland Paris). It's located in Rust, in the south-west of Germany. The park has about 50.000 guests a day. The park is dividen in 16 different areas, mostly named after countries of Europe.
The famous mascot of the park is this mouse that we see at the top, it's called "Euromaus". There are 11 roller coasters and five hotels with a guest hotel, a Tipi Village and Campsite. The most popular hotel is deffinetly the Colosseo, which is a re-creation of a roman colosseum. 
But the park not only offers roller coasters, it also offers shows, like the Ice Show in Greece, a Gladiator Arena in Spain, an Acrobatics Show in Italian and the Globe Theatre based on that of William Shakespeare and the 4D Cinema.
Due the size of the park, there are 3 transport systems, the Panorama Train, the Monorail and the EP-Express train. One of the most important attractions is the roller coaster Silver Star, the Euro-Mir and the Poseidon. There are also museum, like the Formula 1 race car museum of Mercedes Benz and the FIFA World Cup museum. For the little kids they have a Fairyland and more attractions.

Romeo & Juliet

I just did my first Canvas, and it's about Romeo and Juliet. I added some pictures from the movie, like juliet standing on a balcony, a bottle of poison, Romeo and Juliet kissing in the lift.. I also added a song that reminds me a lot of the story, Taylor Swift's Love Story. There are some trailers from diferent movies like Shakespeare in love or Romeo & Juliet starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and some love quotes from the book or quotes from Shakespeare.

I never heard this before, but it's true.
Why we say that one person FALL in love?
Why isnt's it something like get in love?
I personally think that it is because, when we fall from somewhere, we just fall and you can't do anything to stop it.
Because of this it's like falling in love with someone, when we fall in love with someone, we can't do anything to stop it, it just happen.

International Women's Day

Today, March 8, is the International Working Women's Day. The first day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States. In 1910 Clara Zetkin tabled the idea of an Internation Women's Day and it finally was honoured the first time in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland on 19 March.
Now this day is an official holiday Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China,  Madagascar (only for women), Cuba, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia...
The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues... with flowers and small gifts. In some countrien this day has the equivalent status of the Mother's Day.

Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is my favourite writer of amercian romantic novels. She is born in Ohio, the city where she stayed the most time of her life. She moved to New Jersey in 1976, where she also wrote her first book, The Copeland Bride. The novel was published in 1983 under the pen name Justine Cole.
She is living now in Chicago, with her husband Bill, wich she met in college, and her two sons. Her book collection is separeted in different series:

Pyramus and Thisbe

It sounds funny, but I just found out that the famous Romeo and Juliet story from William Shakespeare is a copy. This tragic love story was originally from Ovid ( Publius Ovidius Naso) a long time before Shakespeare even was in the world, in 43 BC. He was an author of classical mythology and the story Pyramus and Thisbe is exactly like Romeo and Juliet.

Pyramus and Thisbe are neighbors, but they families are enemies, so they forbitt the love beetween the two teenagers. Every day they secretly meet at "Ninus", a tomb under a mulberry tree. Thisbe came earlier and she waited for a while under the tree when suddenly appear a lioness, she is horrified and runs away. Then, Pyramus arrives and he sees Thisbe's veil with blood on the ground. He thinks that she was killed, and kill his self with a sword. Thisbe, still horrofied, go back to see Pyramus, but she only finds his dead body and decided to kill herself with the same sword. This all happens under the mulberry tree, which fruits are supposed to be white, but after this tragic story they turned dark to honour the forbidden love.

The summer I turned pretty - Jenny Han

Belly is on the way to Cousins, with her brother Steve and her mother Laurel, like every summer. They stay in a beach house with her mother's " blood sister" Beck (Susannah) and her two boys Jeremiah and Conrad. Belly fell in love with Conrad like a thousand years ago, but he didn't noticed, but this summer it will change.
Belly is finally 15 years old and she has growen up, she's a real women now, and not only the little girl in the house. After a few days she realized that she's still in love with Conrad, but he has changed. He stays in his room all the days playing his guitar, he quit football, he started smoking..
But one day she mets on a party her dreamboy, Cam. They spent the whole summer together and Conrad seems to be a bit jealous. Finally, Cam sees that beetween Conrad and Belly is something, so he break up with her.

The summer end cames nearer and after a kiss with Jeremiah, Conrad noticed that he LOVE Belly, that he always did and they fortunetly come toguether at the end.

Is definetly a movie wich is similar to this quote. They are two people in love, but the death separates them. The husband dies accidentaly and his wife must continue as normally as possible her life. First it's difficult, but after a trip to Irland with her friends, and thanks the carts her husband sent before he dies, she can fall in love again and be an other time happy.

My Town

My home is in Germany, in a town called Bräunlingen. I'ts a little town, with 5.000 people living there. There isnt't too much to do, but there's all you can need. There is a pizzeria, a beautiful hotel, shops, a pharmacie  and cafes and bars. I don't know why I feel like i'm home there, because I only lived there my first four years, and I can't remember anything, but I think it is because all my family lives there. Normally when I go to Germany it's very stressful because I have a really big family and I have to visit EVERYBODY. I went this Christmas with my father and his girlfriend for five days. I spend all the time in my bed because i've had migraine of all the stress, so it wasn't like having "holidays", it was worser than going to school everyday, really. But this February i'm going once again, this time with my mother, but also only for 4 four days, so I will not have time to relax. But I love my family and i'm happy to have the chance to visit them as much as I can.

One Direction are five guys, from England and Irland. They became famous after participating at the program The X Factor in 2010. The members of the group are: Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles. They match perfectly together, and with their craziness and attractiveness they won the hearts of thousand girls, who always support them and gives them a reason to smile every morning. Their two albums, Up all night and Take me home, topped all the charts worldwide, including What makes you beautiful and Live while we're young.

New Year's Revolution 2013

For this brand new year, 2013 i'll try to do all better than last year. After the divorce of my parents and all the problems i've had with my family, I hope that this year will be without all this problems and I can start every day happier and if it's possible with a smile. I have thought of my new year' resolution and here's a list of the most important things.
1. As first, the most important thing is, BE HAPPIER!
2. I'd love to lose weight, eating less chocolate and going more to the gym (not only twice a week)!!!
3. Visit more my father and trying to do more activities or something with him.
4. I will try to do a little bit more for school ( as much as I can).
5. Don't watch too much time TV.
6. Work for my own money.
7. Eat helthier
