Baby's body found buried on Maroubra beach in Sydney

The Australian police was called yesterday because two boys, aged six and seven, discovered a body of a child while digging in the sand at Maroubra Beach.
The body was buried under 30 cm of sand and they could not immediately tell the gender of the baby because the body was badly decomposed.

This comes just one week after they found a baby in a drain in Sydney. Fortunately the baby was alive after being in the stormwater drain for five days, without eating and drinking water, so it's a miracle that the baby survived. The mother of the baby was found after the tragic discover and she has been charged with attempted murder,  the case is expected to be heard in court on 12 december.
Unfortunately the baby found at the beach hadn't so much luck and didn't survived, so we hope that they will find the mother and that she will become a fair punishment.

The police consider that it was an tragic event and that it's really  unusual because something like this doesn't happens everyday and it affects everyone involved, so the New South Wales Police Minister Stuart Ayres is thinking seriously about what they could do to help families that are desperate and in crisis.

Pretty Little Liars

Just before starting school this year I did a big big mistake, I began to watch Pretty Little Liars and now I am really addicted to it.
In my opinion, this is the best mistey serie of all times, because you can't stop watching it, no matter how many chapters you have seen, you never get tired of it.
The plot is about the life of five girls living in a small town called Rosewood. One night, during a party, one of the girls, Alison, disappears and no one knows where she is or what happened. During one year they have no idea of what happened to her, till they found her dead body and the police and her friends start to discover what had happened. They discover that Alison had a stalker called -A and that she was trying to find out who she or he was, and this is probably the reason why she died. After her death, the stalker started  threatening her friends and all the people around them. During the whole serie the girls try to discover who -A is, and in every serie they come closer to him/her.
I've already watched four seasons and I still don't have a clue of who -A is. I think that this is the reason why so many people are addicted to PLL, because we all want to know who A plus because he/she is probably the only one who knows what happened to Alison.

Germany

Last month I went to Germany to visit my family because I hadn't seen them for a long time and also because I had to go to an important wedding.
I used the opportunity to take with me my friends Esther and Tania. For Esther it was the third time she came with me but for Tania it was the first one, so it was a special trip.
We only stayed a few days because we didn't want to miss school. During these days we wanted to go to diferent cities and visit many places, a zoo included.
On the first day, we went to the city Freiburg where we bought our dress for the wedding and some presents for my family. It was a very sunny day and we spent hours sitting in a little café we discovered next to the church, it was very cute.
The next day was supposed to be relaxing and we decided to visit the zoo, but I don't know how, but at the end it was the most exhausting day. The zoo was amazing but it was full of monkeys, it was like the only animals who lived in the zoo were mokeys, so at the end of the day we couldn't see anymore monkeys and we decided to leave.
The following day it was time for the wedding, so we put our new dresses on. The day was hilarious because all the family members were on the party, plus my two spanish friends, who didn't understand anything.
These days were very necessary because we all needed a few days off, but everything has an end, and the next day we must go back to school and start our routine again.

Is Angelina Jolie ready to quit?

The famous actress Angelina Jolie shoked her fans last Wednesday as she confessed in an interview with DuJour magazine that she would be ready to give up perfoming for directing.
As a mother of six children no one could blame her that she is actually thinking about it. Plus, she recently married  Brad Pitt, so we could say that the family is finally perfect and we can all understand  that she wants to dedicate more time with her kids and her husband.
Brad Pitt said that he gives himself about three years more perfoming but Angelina admited that she never has felt confortable as an actress and that she has never loved being in front of the camera, which is very difficult to believe.
Because of this, her statement that she is happier directing movies is even more incredible. She also has been planning her first film for many years, which she finally personally wrote and directed: By the sea. It will appear in the cinemas next year.
To direct the movie was really heavy and not easy for her, but the challenge was a really good think because now she knows what she really would love to do.

The taboo of menstruating in India

In India, there is generally a silence around the issue of women's health - especially around menstruation, for the indians women are impure, filthy, sick and even cursed during their period. They are not allowed to go to the kitchen, to enter the temple or even to sit with the others, they can't take a bath and are anaemic, in conclusion, they are completely excluded from the rest of the society.
A recent study found out that 75% of women living in cities still buy their pads wrapped in a brown bag or newspaper because of the shame associated with menstruation.
Normally, to dry the pieces of cloth full of blood is the most difficult challenge. They have to slip the stained clothes under others without any men noticing them and they can not put them out in the open under the sun to dry completely, because men would see it.
The result is that they never get properly dry, leaving a horrible stench. The unhygienic cloth is used over and over again and they cause a serious threat to health.
It has even reached the point that the girls skip the school during their period because they feel angry, dirty and they are embarassed because during biology classes the boys laugh when the teacher explains the process of menstruation.
To break it, they try to end the silence around the issue with organisations like Goonj. Goonj is one of the several groups that are educating people about menstruation and the myths about it. The organisation is also making cheap sanitary towels for those 70% of Indian women who don't have access to safe and hygienic pads.
Personally, I think that it is a huge problem that still today exist people that think in that way. The fundation of these organisations are an important step to change the mentality, but most importantly, they should start to talk about it without feeling embarassed.

Can you cheat your way to fitness?

Specialists recommend to spend at least 150 minutes doing physical activity during the week to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer and obesity, but this is easier as it sounds.
The typical excuse is that we don't have time to go to the gym because we have to work, clean the house or care about the kids. We even avoid the simplest activities like taking the car instead of walking, taking the lift instead the stairs and emailing friends instead of going to them and talk to them personally.
But the lack of time isn't an excuse anymore, Michael Mosley has proved that some activities we do in our daily routine can help to reach the 150 minutes we should spend on physical activities in a week. These chores are that simple and daily that we don't see them as a "sport".
To find it out, they recruited eight volunteers and asked them to do a range of indoor and outdoor activities. They started with the four typical household chores: ironing, vacuuming, dusting and mopping. After a few weeks they came to the conclusion that these are moderate-intensity activities, but still the volunteers were burning three times more energy than just sitting.
After this, they tried more intensitive chores like washing the car, cleaning the windows, planting plants plus mowing the lawn.
Just by combining these simple activities with walking or dancing, the minimum of 150 minutes is reached. So, this experiment demonstrates that it is really simple to do physical activities, and that the typical "I don't have time to go to the gym" excuse isn't anymore valid.

You are who you friend: why you will go far as your friends go

This news article demonstrate that the influence of our closest friends will decide our future, and how far we will go with our decisions.
Friends are very important in our lives because they bring a sense of warmth that make us think that they always will support and protect us. This feeling provokes that we never feel alone and because of this they are even more valuable. Of course, they are different types of friends, and we have to be able to pick out the best of them, the ones who fits in our personality. Naturally, they can not be perfect, but neither are we, so we have to accept them because life without friends doesn't make any sense.

The article affirms that each of our closest friends has habits and disciplines that we will invariably pick up, regardless if they are positive or not and that it would be impossible to accomplish any goal without our friend's influences, who motivate us to accomplish them plus respect the decision we make.
It's important to remember that we always should avoid a negative friend group atmosphere, because they could push us in a wrong way and they could jeopardize our growth as an individual.
In my opinion, all this is completely true. Sometimes I catch myself doing the same habits than my friends, like laughing in the same way or saying the same things because I spend a long time with them. It is also true that some friends I had until now pushed me in wrong ways and they also have avoided that I accepted some important chances that could have changed my life in a better way, but it is what it is and I can't go back and change this kind of friends for the ones I have now, wich I think are the best ones.

Is humour necessary?

Recently humour has become an important issue in our daily life because of the physical health, mental health and social benefits, but could we live without it?
First of all, a lot of studies have proved that laughter and humour binds people together plus increases hapiness. Humour also strenghtens our relationships because the best way to keep friends is laughing together and making fun of hilarious events and situations.
Personally, we use humour and laughter everyday to keep our friendship and we are the best example that this works.
In conclusion, humour has a lot of benefits and in our opinion i'ts absolutely necessary and don't forget that it's free and the best medicine for all the problems.

Starbucks lifts tattoo ban for workers, gives pay increase and a snack

Over the past months the employees of Starbucks drawn attention to themselves. The reason for this is the dissatisfaction with their working contitions, and that's why they are currently fighting for an improvement.
It all began in June with the employee Kristie Williams, who started a petition to change the tattoo policy, wich garnered 25,000 signatures. The company did not mind and in July, they threatened a young girl working in their shop in Michigan to fire her if she doesn't remove the heart tattooo on her hand.
The case of the employee in Michigan was just one of the few who has found his way into the media, so the coffeechain was forced to change their working conditions to avoid a bad image. Starbucks announced Thursday that they would change their dress policy and that they also would allow to show of the "tasteful" tattoos of the employees, as long as they don't are on the employee's neck or face. But they didn't announce only good news, they also added other dress code restrictions. These restrictions forbade to wear watches, bracelets or rings with stones, but they can at least wear their wedding rings.
In addition, they pay increases to baristas and supervisors, annual salary reviews for all employees, and the workers also get one free pastry per shift.
In my opinion, Starbucks is one of the most unjust companies that exist, and I would never work voluntarily for them, even if they change a few work conditions or not. All employees should be free to wear what they want and they should not be a disadvantage to find a job.

Funny movie

I have watched a lot of funny movies in the past and I don't have a favourite one. I like them all but I never have watched a film that I found hilarious. The funnier movie I have seen this year is "A few best men", it's an Australian-British comedy film directed by Stephen Elliot in 2011.
The plot is about a young man, David, who proposes to his girlfriend Mia at the same day they meet in Australia. He has no family, so he invite his three best friends to the wedding. After arriving the trouble begins, his friends accidentally steal drugs, they also steal de father-in-law's favourite sheep and the whole wedding day ends in a total disaster. The best of the movie is that one of my favourite actresses, Fat Amy is also starring in the movie.
There aren't scenes that are funnier than others, there are all hilarious. So the best is to watch the full movie, but for now here is the trailer:

Drawing on humor for change

In this presentation the New Yorker cartoonist Liza Donnelly is explaining how humor can empower women to change the rules.
The truth is that there are plenty of role models all around us. There are our mothers, our cousins, our aunts, our sisters and of course, the most important thing, the media. They all try to tell us what we have to do, how we have to do it and what is good for us and what not. The only problems with these rules is that most women don't like them and they're not following them, and so Liza Donnelly. Donnelly has found her own solution for it, to change the rules with humor, and in her case drawing cartoons.
Because of this, she decided to become a cartoonist and with her drawings make the people think about the stupid rules that we're following.
In conclusion, I think she is right thinking that we can change this think one laugh at a time.

Happiness and Career success

The purpose of this Infographic is obvious. They are trying to convince us that we can't be successful just by working hard, new studies have proved that there is another important thing that we should notice: happiness.
It is true that we spend more time working than doing another thing that could make us happier, but people have accepted this fact and they believed that it was normal, until now. Studies aimed to prove that happiness leads to career success, and not that we need to work hard and to be successful to finally be happy,
It is demonstrated that happier and positive people are more likely to get hired in the first place, tend to have more job satisfaction, perform better on their job and miss fewer days.
So the conclusion is, that we should work happier to get better results, and not only work happier. To increase our positivity you can try the "three good things" activity, which consists in writing down three good things that happened to you during the day.
I will try to do this activity every night, and we will see if my positivity increases.

DREAMS

When I was about 8 years old I had my first big dream, At that time I had the typical little-girl dream, to be a famous fashion designer, but this idea wasn't very realistic and because of this my father was against it. I remember how I was crying days and days because my daddy didn't let me be a fashion designer, but after a time thinking about it I came to the same conclusion, the chances to be famous as a designer are about 5% and that is definitely not much, So I changed my mind and decided that I wanted to be a lawyer and so, earn a lot of money. At this time I even could imagine me studying law at university and me going to work every day, but now I think that it was more the influence of my father who brought me to this idea. If I think now about me studying law, I imagine myself sleeping in the classroom while the teacher is explaining something really boring. I don't know how I could ever believe that I would be a good lawyer, because now I think that this might be the most boring job ever and I would never be happy working as such.
I think it was last Christmas when it finally made "click"! At this moment I had it all crystal clear in front of me, and I suddenly knew that this was the only option for me, to study Business Administration, The only thing I still don't know is in which city I will go to university someday, it will be in Germany because to study there will be much better for my future but it is also very complicated. I probably will have to wait one year, because I won't have time to plan it all in one summer, and because of this i'm looking for some options to do during this year, i'm also thinking about going abroad but I have to think more about it.
For now, I know that I have to earn good grades and be more focused on what is really important to make true my dream, and the most important thing, never give up on myself!

2nd Batxillerat

Hello 2nd Batxillerat!
During summer I was hoping every single day that the 15th of September will never arrive, but it came sooner than I thought. Now i'm sitting on this uncomfortable chair in the classroom trying to listen to my teacher and thinking about how amazing it is how your entire life changes from one day to another. Last week, sunday the 14th was just another awesome day of summer, I had to work but it didn't matter. In summer everything is different, you never get bored and you don't have to see the same faces everyday. I also had to get up early to go to work, but there is a huge difference between getting up at 6AM and 9AM. Sometimes I was really tired of working but at least when I was at home I had no homework to do and I never had to think about an exam wich I have to write the next day.
I love summer because you are like an adult, you are independent and you can do what you want to do, and because of this it is really hard to go back to school, where suddenly everybody tells you what you have to do and what is the best for you.
In conclusion, I hope that I will survive this year and that it will end as soon as possible, and then finally, it will be the time to say bye bye Castelló!

LOOKING BACK ON MY BLOG

I can see an improvement on my English level, especially in my vocabulary skills. I think that my essays and oral presentations are the activity that best shows my level. I think that I learned most doing the opinion essays and blog posts, because even if we don't like it, writing is the best method to improve our skills. I did not found useful the readings and listenings because they were at the same level than last year, and I already did some of the vocabulary units last year.
For next year, I hope that I can improve even more my English level keeping doing the blog, oral presentations and watching movies.
In conclusion, I have learned a lot this year and I hope that I can finish school with a better level than I have now.

Monokini 2.0

A group of women who survived breast cancer shows us that they are more important things than our problem areas, like celullitis or to not be thin enough to wear a bikini.
Some finnish designers have created swimmwear for these womens, who have lost one or even both breasts. This project is called Monokini 2.0 and it shows how strong they are, after defenfing the cancer.
The designers of the special swimmwear don't want to hide or cover up something, they just want to show the world that breast cancer survivors in bikini or swimmsuit can still look good and be sexy.

For the women, the photo-shoot surely was a test of courage. It is not natural for them to feel comfortable in their bodies one hundred percent with all the changes. But precisely this is what the project "Monokini 2.0" wants to.

On their officialy website, they say:
"We want to create a positive self image in women who have undergone surgery on the breasts,". "We show that they can be completely beautiful and sexy -., Even with only one breast or none at all"

So the next time we put a bikini on we shoud think twice before we complain about our problem areas, because they are more important things in life than to broad hips, to small breasts or thick legs, and this
 project is the proof.

Frostie

I just found this news article on a german page and I wanted to comment it because it's a wonderful story and it demostrates that good people still exist.
It's a story about the little white goat Frostie.
Frostie lives in a farm in Melbourne, Australia. Already in her young years she suffered from a bacterial infection, which damages the joints. With antibiotics and lots of love from the farm boss, Frostie is nursed back to health, but she can't move her two hind legs, until she gets a second chance in the form of two small wheels. With a wheeled walker, which is strapped to her body, the little goat can walk again and explore the world. The walker was from another animal living in the farm, called Leon Trotsky, a small pig. Immediately after his birth Leon's mother accidentely fell on him and injured him so much that he never could walk again, until the walker came.
The walker passed to Frostie because Leon learned to walk alone and now we hope the same for Frostie!

Primavera Pop 2014

Every year, the spanish radio station 40 Principales organizes a festival called Primavera Pop. It is celebrated this 23th and 24th in Barcelona and Madrid.
Marta, Tània, Esther and I decided to participate this year. We will go this friday after school to Badalona and we are very excited because this year they have invited a lot of special guests, and the best is that it's for free!
It is true that I don't know the most of them but I can't wait to see The Vamps. It's a british pop rock boy band formed in 2012, so they are newcomers. The members are the teenagers Connor Ball, Tristan Evans, James Mcvey and Brad Simpson and in England they are like The Wanted or Little Mix, so we could say that they are pretty famous.
I'm also excited to see Clean Bandit, the newcomer from England with the song "Rather be". To sum up, it will also come Sweet California, Abraham Mateo, Fraag Malas, Xuso Jones, etc.
In conclusion, I will enjoy the festival with my friends and I hope to have a good time together.

Limits of science

From my point of view, there should be more limits in the scientific world. It seems to me that a lot of scientists use humans for their experiments, and not always in a legal way. They especially use animals for medicine experiments and actually also for cloning.
After many experiments, scientists have succeeded in cloning, but the society is against this new technology. And after thinking about what they are trying to do, I have come to the same conclusion. They are trying to do identycal copies of humans, and this can't be good for society. It would mean that a lot of people in the world would have a clone, somebody that is exactly like him, and I wouldn't like to have one!
On the other hand, as far as I know, the last years they have tried to clone every single animal that exists. The famous sheep Dolly is an example of it, and she seemed to be happy with her life.
In conclusion, I would say that cloning is an example of limits of science. It's an unnecessary method that nobody needs and I bet that we could continue living perfectly without a clone of ourselfs.

Should teachers wear an uniform?

Personally, I think that, in our school, it would be completely stupid to force the teachers to wear an uniform or to have a dress code.
Firstly, in my imagination it seems very funny to see all my teachers in uniforms, just when they were younger and went to school.
Secondly, it also would be funny if they had a dress code, like to wear a skirt everyday. But, in this case, the male teachers wouln't be an exception, they would have to wear them too.
To finish, it is true taht it would be funny, but anyway, it is a stupid idea. It is widely known that the students are the ones who should wear an uniform, and not the teachers.

Fighting for a better world

Over the past couple of years, our environment has changed very drastically, but I think that our world had these problems already a long time ago, but they tried to hide it from the inhabitants. Because it's a fact that it's nearly impossible that from one year to another people can damage our planet so badly. If we had reacted before, we probably wouldn't be in this situation today, but we were not able because we had no idea of what was happening.
The main reason of the environment of the world is because humans don't take enough care of the Earth, and if we don't to anything about it, the Earth will not be in a "good shape" for a long time anymore.
Luckily, there are many solutions for this problem. One thing that we could do is to conserve energy thinking in a smaller way. We can reduce our necessaries and then recycle them, turn off every light that we don't need, turn off the water while brushing our teeth or washing the dishes, etc.
Another more drastic way is to use more the bycicle or to avoid completely the car. But this is impossible for the most people. We need our car for everything so we can't renounce to it.
But, it is true that the most effective and easy way to save our environment is recycling. Recycling means to reduce, reuse and recycle and we should all do this. It's not difficult; we just have to do very simple things like separating plastics or glass from the organic or paper trash and take care about where we leave the waste.
In conclusion, we don't need to change completely our way of living, if we all do little things to avoid these problems we can make a big change, but his only works if we do it together.

BLOGGER

Blogging has become a popular hobby for a lot of teenagers in the last years. Especially girls use it to express their feelings and to talk about their lifes. Some of them also give their opinions about fashion or celebraties and make tutorials about make-up and hair.
On one hand, the fashion bloggers have become so famous that they already can live and pay their bills with that "hobby". They also get invitations for Fashion weeks and they also have the opportunity to meet famous designers.
On the other hand, the personal bloggers write about their whole world and everybody can read it, I think that, for those people nothing is private, and everybody need their privacy.
In my opinion, I think that writing a blog is a good idea for a lot of people, but it isn't for me. It is true that it helps to improve the writing skills and to express the creativity, but I feel like my blog is homework where I have to write an essay every week. In other words, I don't have fun doing it.
In conclusion, if I would like to do it, I would write about my life and I would give tutorials.

Fit and Healthy

Two weeks ago, I decided to change my lifestyle. I want to become fit and healthy, but not in this excessive way because I don't want to be addicted to the gym or to be obsessed with my figure neither.
Because of this, I decided to sign in in the gym of Empuriabrava. They just opened two weeks before, after closing for a time. I'm trying to go from Monday to Friday about one hour or two, of course if I don't have too much homework and exams.
I know a lot of people who goes there, and I also have met some new people. They are all very friendly and they help when you have a problem.
The first week I had muscle soreness, I couldn't even get out of my bed! But now it's getting better, I feel that I can do more, and for a longer time.

SCHOOL

Last week my classmates went to London and unfortunetely I had to go to school. Most people didn't come, we only were about six or seven people in class.
The teachers were very upset and angry because so much people dind't come just because they didn't wanted to. I supose that they thought that the teachers won't advance the class but they don't care anyway. The people and teachers were very happy about the feeling we had in class because we only were the people who really wanted to learn, nobody was interrupting and also the teachers were much more relaxed that the others day. We didn't have homework to do too, because we had time to finish it all in class.
After school I had to help in the Café of my mother, the café is always full of people, so much that I don't understand from where all the people come from.
All in one, this were some really relaxing days and I enjoyed them.

Barbie vs Lammy

Every little girl dreamed to be like a Barbie, to have a perfect body, perfect skin, perfect hair and a perfect boyfriend, but most little girls don't unterstand that they are just dolls and that they don't exist in real life.
Lately, the criticism of Barbie was getting bigger, the unrealistic proportions of the plastic doll show young girls a false women picture.
Last year, appeared a picture with " Barbie with a normal body", and the whole world have celebrated this new normal doll. The american artist Nickolay Lamm has designed this doll and for the prototype, he used the body measurements of a 19-year-old average American women.
To make this reality they have oppened a Kickstarter project and called fans for help to finance the project. Those who pay 17 USD (approximately 12,34€)  gets the first edition of the new Babie, Lammy.

The Kickstarter project was a huge success, and the fans payed 95000 USD for Lammy going in production. Already on the second day, the project has collected more than the double because everyone wants to have a Lammy at home!

New Zealand

In this picture you can see New Zealand.
New Zealand and Australia are very similar but I have always prefered New Zealand, I don't know why.
For me, New Zealand was always a little big dream of mine, I always wanted to go there one day because it's seems to me like the perfect paradise. It's a country of stunning and diverse natural beauty. It's like an all in one island, you can see jagged mountains, rolling pasture land, steep fiords, large lakes, raging rivers, wonderful beaches and activ volcanic zones.
These islands are one of Earth's most peculiar bioregions, habited by flightless birds seen nowhere else such as a nocturnal parrot called Kakapo and Kiwi, wich are national symbols.
Another highlight of the islands are the glaciers. When somebody thinks about glaciers they woul situate them in the cold places, but New Zealand has several, the most famous are the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers in the Westland National Park.

I would love to travel to New Zealand because it often adds an adventure twist to nature, it's the original home of jet-boating and bungy jumping.

I hope this dream will come one day true, so I have started to planning my activities:
-Birdwatching
-Boat tours
-Bungy Jump at the Lake Taupo
-Canyoning
-Diving
-Hiking
-Ice Climbing
-Jetskiing
-Rafting
-Swimming with dolphins

Daniel Meyer

Daniel Meyer is a 16 years old boy. He seems like a normal teenager, just like his friends, but he isn't. Daniel came one month earlier to the world and lost his twin sister because she died shortly after birth, and unfortunately Daniel had a malformed heart.
Since 2004 he has a heart catheter and has to have always oxygen with him. If they would have a donor heart, it would be questionable if he would survive the surgery.
The last years, Daniel spent the time alone in his bedroom just waiting to die. He had so many wishes but his family cared too much so he never had the chance to make his dreams come true.
Far away from Daniel, was living the author Lars Amend. He was running away from his depression, so he flew to Rio de Janeiro to find the meaning of the life. He lived in a very poor neighborhood, where next to him died people because they hadn't enough to eat or because someone just killed them.
He went back to Germany to write a book about his experiences, but then he heard about Daniel. The author wanted to help the teenager and went to the hospital to visit him. Suddenly, Daniel was happier because Lars laughed and discussed with him, not like his parents just were always afraid of doing something wrong.
One evening they sat in Daniel's room, and Lars had the idea to make a list about his wishes, wich were:
-Stay in a 5-star hotel
-Kiss a girl
-Stay long awake
-Pass a day kidding people
-Smoke a cigarette
-A ride with a limousine through the city
-Go shopping cool clothes and shoes
-Eat the best spaghetti Carbonara in the world
-Record a song
-See Mama being happy
Lars made his wishes come true one by one. Both are now much more happier, the teenager was having fun the first time in his life and the writer has found a new sense of life.

Gap year

Today I will talk about the famous "GAP" year.
Some students, go a year abroad between high school and college. During this gap year, students engage in academic courses, especially to learn new languages. They have also the chance to do a volunteer work or a "travel and work" year.
The practice of taking time out developed in the United Kingdom during the 60's, but today it has become one of the biggest dreams for every student. It's a perfect opportunity to learn new languages, learn more about the cultures from other countries, make new friends and to live amazing experiences.
The most important reasons for students to go abroud could be:

- They want to see something else, and not always their own country.
- They want to go away from their parents.
- They want to live for the first time by their own.
- They are interested in other cultures and languages.
- They want to meet new people.
- They want to make a break from the studying, before going to college.

When I finish school, I will also make this experience. Not just for learning a new language, I will work and earn some money to pay the University.

A YEAR WITHOUT SHOPPING

Nunu is a trendsetter and blogger, in conclusion, she loves fashion.
This love turned every day more to an addiction, so she decided to this experiment: One year without shopping, no new clothes, no shoes and no handbags.

The Austrian girl loved to go through the stores and to buy new clothes, but she didn't knew her limits.
"I have shopped to distract me, because something in my life wasn't going well, but I definetily didn't bought the stuff because I needed it."
Even after a good day in the office, Nunu needed to go to the department stores. She didnt't know the reasons for the shopping trips, she just felt that she needed it and she wanted to feel the satisfying feeling afterwards, but this satisfaction never lasted long, the distances were getting shorter day after day.
"It's like a drug addiction, you needed everytime faster".
During this "shopping diet" she always asked herself: Do I want this? Do I really need it?, and this helped her a lot. She bought a book written by other girls who have tried it and they believe that it had made them happier.
Nunu, after finishing her shopping experience, is much more happier and thinks that it has helped her a lot, she has found a new way of living without spending money for unnecessary things.

Personally, I prefer to continue living with that motto:

LIMITS OF SCIENCE

From my point of view, there should be more limits in the scientific world. It seems to me that a lot of scientists use humans for their experiments, and not always in a legal way. They especially use animals for medicine experiments and actually also for cloning.
After many experiments, scientists have succeeded in cloning, but the society is against this new technology. And after thinking about what they are trying to do I have come to the same conclusion. They are trying to do identycal copies of humans, and this can't be good for society. It would mean that a lot of people in the world would have a clone, somebody that is exactly like himm and I wouldn't like to have one!
On the other hand, as far as I know, the last years they have tried to clone every single animal that exists. The famous sheep Dolly is an example for it, and she seemed to be happy with her life.
In conclusion, I would say that cloning is an example of limits of science. It's an unnecessary method that nobody needs and I bet that we would continue living perfectly without a clone of ourselfs.

NEW PROJECT

In shortly, Empuriabrava will have another café, but this time, it won't be another dirty and expensive place like the other ones, it will be a traditional german Bakery and café.
It will be a bakery and café with german products, meals, breakfast and self-made cupcakes called Café Olé. They are working really hard since november, and I must say that at the beggining I was not that happy with this idea. I thought that there are already too much cafés in Empuriabrava and that it wouln't work, but you can see everyday more results and it's awesome!
People from everywhere come to us to ask about what we are going to do and when we are going to open. Even the newspaper Empordà came to us because they want to write an article about it. They have planned to open it in the first week of March, but we will see it in a few weeks.

SUMMER JOB

I can't wait for summer because, honestly, I'm sick of going to school everyday and to study every afternoon. I prefer, thousand times more, to work even if it means to be there at ten o'clock and to have to clean the shop every day.
My clients were people from everywere, especially from France, Russia, Germany or England. The most of them had a lot of money so they always bought the special collections. The cheapier collections had a lower quality and were destinated for the tourists. It's a very interesting job, you have the chance to talk to people from all over the world, to learn more about the culture and about their lifes. The female part of clients normally can't stop to explain you their whole lifes, the problems with the husband, or the lovers, how smart their children are..
It's unbelievable how people can trust so far to tell their private life to a simply shopassistant!
In conclusion, I'm very lucky to have this job and I can't wait to work there another summer.

Nicholas Sparks

In my opinon Nicholas Sparks is the best author ever. He's an american novelist, screenwriter and producer. He has published seventeen novels plus one non-fiction. Eight of his romantic-drama novels have been adapted to films. He wrote his first novel at school, but he never published it, and the next he wrote is the most known, The Notebook.
Every single movie had a big success, they are about love storys but not always with an happy ending, mostly a main character dies in a tragedy and the partner learns to live without someone by his side.
His movies are very popular, for young people as well for the older ones, they have the perfect dosis of love, tragedy and mistery.
Most people I know, think that his movies are romantic and sad at the same time, and they end crying after seeing it.
Some examples of his novels are:
- The Notebook
- The Lucky one's
- A walk to remember
- Dear John
Now i'm reading the novel Best of me (in english), a story about a man and a women who were in love when they were teenager, but they parents forced them to end the relation and 20 years after of being separeted, they see each other at the funeral of a friend and they are falling in love again.
The book will be adapted to a movie in October.

Orphan Black

Orphan Black is a Canadian science fiction television series starring Tatiana Maslany.
The main character is called Sarah Manning, a young women who assumes the identity of her clone, Elizabeth.
Sarah, saw the suicide of a women at the train station and she stole her handbag  and discovered, after seeing a picture, that the girl looked just like her and the girl seems to have a great job and a lot of money. So she decided to go to her apartment, and there, Sarah realized that that was the solution for all her problems, she needed money and she acted like she was Elizabeth, even her "boyfriend" didn't notice anything strange.
After a time she discovered more and more new interesting facts until she realized that she and Elizabeth were clones. But that's not all, she also discovered that there are more people like her out there and she wanted to know who was the creater of the clones.
The series are about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning.

Dolly

Dolly was born on 5th July 1996 and had three mothers ( one provided the egg, another the DNA and the third carried the cloned embryo to term).
She was created using the technique of somatic cell nuclear transfer by Iam Wilmut, Keith Campbell at the Roslin institute in Edingburgh. Dolly wasn't the first animal to clone but she gained the attention in the media because she was the first to be cloned from an adult cell.
The sheep lived her entire life at the Roslin Institute and produced six lambs until she died on the 14th February 2003 because she had a lung cancer which is very common of sheeps. After Dolly died many other animals were cloned (pigs, horses, bulls..) but no one was so famous like her, so she has been called "the world's most famous sheep" by the media.
In my opinion, cloning an animal isn't that bad, and I don't understand why so many people think that it is something that goes against god and religion. It's just a new technique of creating life, and Dolly had the same life like other sheeps and she didn't have any problems, she was just a normal happy sheep.

Christmas Eve

For me, the best day of the year is not my birthday, not the last day of school, it's Christmas Eve. This year I decided to leave my mother here and go to visit my family in Germany. I love this time of the year, it's snowing, everyone is happy, everyone is baking cookies and the whole family is together.

My grandparents picked me up on the airport and I have slept there during the holidays. The first days I did the typical last-minute shopping to buy some presents and christmas cards, it was amazing to see how much people buy their presents on the last day, and how much money they spent. On Christmas Eve, everyone in my family has to go to the church, even if you are never going during the year. It is very boring to sit there, and listen for hours and hours to something you can't even understand, but it's always funny because my cousins bring their children and they can entertain us very well. Last Christmas they told us to go outside because we were making too much noise and other people wanted to listen to the pastor. This was the best moment ever, we laughed so much and had so much fun even it was freezing outside.
After church comes the best, going outside and wish everyone, and I mean everyone, a happy Christmas. There are always so much people that after this everyone hurts the hand from shaking everyone's hand. After this every family goes home and have the Christmas diner and then it's time to open their presents.

The next day, the stress begins. You have to go every day to someone of your family's house. So the most people are happy when Christmas is over.
